Stop Smoking With Champix

Champix (varenicline) is a treatment to help people to stop smoking. The treatment is a 12 week course of tablets which can help to relieve the craving and withdrawal symptoms associated with stopping smoking. During the first two weeks of taking Champix, you will continue to smoke. Most people set their quit date between 10 to 14 days of taking Champix.

You are not recommended to smoke after your quit date, but if you do, Champix can reduce the enjoyment you feel from smoking cigarettes. Champix is not the same as nicotine replacement therapy.

Patient group directions are written directions that allow accredited pharmacists to assess patients and supply treatments for particular conditions, without a prescription, subject to exclusions.

We are able to supply Champix ( Varenicline ) through a patient group direction. This means you are not required to present an NHS or private prescription and are able to purchase these tablets at competitive prices.

Only suitably accredited pharmacists are able to provide this service so we would advise that you call to ensure they are present at the pharmacy when you arrive. Only patients in person can complete assessment forms and be provided with medication.
